Kraisak Choonhavan has been working actively to protect the environment and natural resources of Thailand for many years. He has been a committee member and advisor for the Government and NGOs in this field. Recent appointments include:

2000-2006: Advisor of the Senate Standing Committee on Environment

2004: Chairman of the Advisory Board for the CITES 13th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties (CoP13) by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment

1996: Advisory Board Committee of Bangkok Metropolitan Governor, Dr. Bhichit Rattakul, on Environment, Art and Culture

In addition, Chairman Kraisak is often invited by institutions and organizations to give lectures on human rights and environmental management.

Steve Galster is the Chief of Party, ASEAN-WEN Support Program. His background covers investigative research and media campaigning relating to wildlife trafficking, arms trafficking, and human trafficking in many parts of the world, including the former Soviet Union, USA, China, Afghanistan, Africa and Southeast Asia. Investigative reports and films he developed about wildlife and human trafficking have been featured in TIME magazine, CNN, BBC, ABC , US News and World Report, and by many Russian, East European and Asian media outlets. Presently Mr. Galster is directing a USAID-funded project to help establish a wildlife law enforcement network for Asia.

Evangeline Mercado has more than 19 years of work experience with non-governmental organizations in the areas of IndoChinese refugee resettlement, micro-finance, and wildlife conservation. She has extensive experience in overseeing finance, procurement and administrative functions to ensure compliance with donor’s grant policies including that of sub-grantees. She is skilled in developing accounting, procurement and human resource policies and procedures putting in place internal control system,negotiating work and service contracts, interfacing with auditors, and coordinating the implementation of approved action plans.
