Training

FREELAND’s training programs are designed to boost capacity to protect ecosystems and prevent the unsustainable poaching of wildlife in Southeast Asia. Our programs help local staff and communities implement self-sustaining initiatives to protect biodiversity.

FREELAND works on the ground in Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and Indonesia to help with:

• Assessments
FREELAND helps assess nature protection priorities for specific areas of concern and the training needs of local law enforcement personnel.

• Training
FREELAND trains park rangers and other law enforcement personal to increase their ability to fight wildlife crime. In order to build an ongoing local capacity to protect wildlife, FREELAND focuses on training local instructors and the establishment of training centers.

• Technical support
FREELAND provides technical support to enable and advance wildlife protection through its Surviving Together program. Surviving Together helps build conservation capacity in high priority protected areas by improving park management, wildlife monitoring, protection initiatives and community outreach.
