Freeland Film Festival: September 12-14, 2025 in Green Lake, Wisconsin
We are back!
Picture this: our world reset, with temperatures cooling, species recovering, natural habitats expanding, and communities thriving and safe from out-breaks.
Let’s make it happen!
We’re back - to celebrate our planet and people. We always need hope and inspiration to turn back the tide on species and habitat loss, climate change, and viral outbreaks, all of which threaten people, animals and ecosystems. One way to regain hope and realize our vision is to celebrate what we already have – Earth’s natural beauty, and the harmony that exists between people and nature in many places. And to scale it.
This vision is shared by Freeland and our partners in EarthTeam. We practice the “Planetary Health” approach to protect planet, people and animals through nature protection (wildlife and habitats) and regenerative agriculture.
Good stories and storytellers inspire local and global action. So, we seek inspiring films that cover any or all of the following topics, in short, medium or feature length, focusing on target audiences of all ages and geographies:
Submit a film, or just come watch.
Or Donate and help us pay for children’s scholarships and to bring filmmakers from afar to come to Green Lake. You can make a donation as an individual, foundation, or a corporation. We are currently lining up partners that will join Green Lake and Freeland as public sponsors.

Good stories and storytellers inspire local and global action. So, we seek inspiring films that cover any or all of the following topics, in short, medium or feature length, focusing on target audiences of all ages and geographies:
- Protecting wildlife or people from trafficking;
- Protecting natural habitats (terrestrial or marine) from any threat;
- Protecting nature and people’s health through regenerative agriculture;
- “Planetary Health” or “One Health” models or approaches.
- We also love to see films about people and organizations devoting their lives to protecting planet and people.

Freeland is a frontline organization working for a world that is free of wildlife trafficking and human slavery. Our team of law enforcement and development specialists work alongside partners in Asia, Africa and the Americas to build capacity, reduce demand, strengthen networks and promote good governance to protect critical ecosystems and vulnerable people.
The Freeland Film Festival is a global storytelling platform featuring films about people, wild animals and ecosystems that are facing daunting challenges. These are stories of hope and inspiration.
