Training
PROTECT
Protected-area Operational & Tactical Enforcement Conservation Training (PROTECT) is a training program that enables frontline rangers and their managers to safely and efficiently patrol and supervise protected areas. The training includes remote first-aid, patrolling and navigation techniques, apprehending poachers, and smuggling detection.
Training frontline rangers of protected areas is important as they face many on the job dangers, the most serious being that poachers are armed. PROTECT teaches rangers how to best safeguard wildlife while also defending themselves. Working in cooperation with governments, Freeland has trained more than 3,000 front-line protected area and wildlife law enforcement officials in Asia and Africa from over 40 agencies in 25 countries since the year 2000. C-TOC
Countering Transnational Organized Crime (C-TOC) is a specialized course for law enforcement agencies to help them illuminate, analyze and disrupt illicit supply chains involved in trafficking. Organized criminal syndicates track and move wildlife and people, taking advantage of corruption, limited enforcement capacity and open borders.
It is crucial we break up these supply chains as that is the only way we can stop these syndicates from doing business. The course includes training on advanced investigation, digital forensics, financial flow analysis and anti money laundering, and open source intelligence. Learn more here.

Trafficking Free Enterprises
Freeland trains corporate staff to prevent wildlife or human trafficking at the workplace, through our Tracking Free Enterprises (TFE) program. Staff working for airlines and airports, freight forwarders and seaports, as well as banks, hotels, and other companies are participating in TFE to create trafficking free zones. Organized criminal syndicates are using private companies across the globe to track people and wildlife.
These illicit trades threaten civil society and ecosystems. They also pose a serious risk to companies with potential loss of image, market share and, in serious cases, civil and legal liability. TFE consists of short training courses tailored to each client to help raise awareness, build capacity, and empower company staff to identify, report, and prevent future crime. Learn more here.

Wildlife Trafficking
The illegal, multibillion-dollar trade in wildlife is driving many species to the brink of extinction. The devastating effects of this environmental catastrophe also pose grave threats to human health, food security and economic prosperity.

Human Trafficking
Every year, up to 4 million men, women and children are being trafficked around the world. Around 80 percent will end up as sex slaves, while the rest will be put to work as forced laborers. Trafficking in persons accounts for US$32 billion dollars per year.

Freeland Patrols
Help us combat trafficking through tips and training. We gather information on trafficking and transfer our insights to trusted law enforcement for action. We then train those officers (rangers, police, Customs, etc) on how to use tips and other data to dismantle wildlife and human trafficking businesses and syndicates.
