Freeland Foundation together with Ms. Jane Seymour paid a courtesy visit and presented appreciation trophy to AMLO for successful work on wildlife trafficking cases.

5 January 2022, Police Major General Piyapun Pingmuang, Secretary-General of the Anti-Money Laundering Board, assigned Police Captain Pairart Taidparnich, Acting Anti-Money Laundering Policy Advisor, together with Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO) executives and officials to welcome Freeland Foundation representatives, Mr. Steve Galster, Chair, International Management Committee, Ms. Jane  Seymour, renowned actress and Freeland supporter, Police Major General Petcharat Sangchai, CEO of Freeland – Thailand in a courtesy visit and appreciation trophy presentation to AMLO for its successful work on wildlife trafficking cases. Mr. Galster and Pol. Maj. Gen. Sangchai commended AMLO for its success in assets proceeding in wildlife trafficking cases since 2012, especially the case of trafficking in rhino horn, wild animals and Siamese rosewood and recently in 2021, which over 200-million-baht worth of assets was seized and frozen. Ms. Seymour also addressed cooperation between AMLO and Freeland and believes that public and private partnership will certainly make a different not only in the case of wildlife trade, but also corruption and human trafficking where AMLO really excels.
​Police Major General Dr. Piyapan Pingmuang, Secretary-General of Anti-Money Laundering Office stated that Freeland Foundation has always been supporting AMLO’s work in wildlife trafficking cases. This issue is also Thai Government’ s priority and Thai Government appointed relevant agencies to prove its seriousness and sincerity in solving the issue. From the cooperation among agencies, and especially the information support from Freeland Foundation, enabled AMLO to seize and freeze assets under AML law in an amount over 200 million baht.

He also stressed that, AMLO, Freeland, and all relevant agencies will continue cooperation and coordination to investigate and gather evidence in order to cut the criminal cycle, not only on wildlife trafficking cases but also other offenses which AMLO was tasked for the benefit of global society as well as Thailand.
